Award winning Zambian Folk artist, song writer and UN HeForShe Gender Equality Music Champion Mumba Yachi, has been selected by Baktu Music to perform with two other great artists from Botswana and South Africa in a collaboration they have called “Kgalagadi Soul tour 2017”. Mumba Yachi will be representing Zambia, Sereetsi, a four-time BOMU awards winner (Botswana) and Austebza, Feather Awards 2016 Musical Director (South Africa).

The project will run from late March until December 2017 with breaks in between to give artists time for their own individual music careers. The Kgalagadi Soul Tour will allow the artists to showcase their individual arts, using a band made up of different musicians from different parts of the world. The Soul Tour will travel around the SADC region with shows already booked in Botswana and South Africa. The tour is expected to also confirm more shows and travel to Mozambique, Lesotho, Swaziland, Namibia and Zambia among other SADC region destinations.

For Mumba Yachi this is a great opportunity to share our Zambian sound to a different audience. It also gives him an opportunity to showcase his musical journey as he prepares for the launch of his fifth album “The Great of Work”, to be launched on the 13th of May 2017 at Alliance Francaise. Tickets will be available on sale from the 29th of April till the day of the launch at Alliance Francaise and Le Closet at East Park Mall.

Mumba Yachi leaves for his tour on Monday 27th March and his words to Majesties before leaving home are “I would like for our Majesties (supporters or fans) to continue to support Mumba Yachi and Zambian musicians so that we can represent you at even greater stages. Thank you to all that supported and still appreciate Yachi Music. I know where I want to go without leaving out where I come from that’s my home, Zambia. Surely this year is the year of The Great Work”.
