Bestie is a heartfelt tribute to friendship, celebrating the unwavering support of a close friend through life’s ups and downs. While expressing gratitude, Roberto also acknowledges the scrutiny that often comes with success, warning his best friend, “Let me warn you, bestie, people will call us names for the money we are making”.
Sung in both English and Nyanja, Bestie carries an infectious Afro-pop rhythm produced by Roberto’s longtime collaborator, KingTec.
The 2-minute, 58-second track is irresistibly catchy, with an easy-to-sing-along chorus featuring the lyrics, “Uyu eve ni muntu wanga,” meaning “This one is my person”.
