Olijaba Entertainment presents “Winsula”, the brand-new single from Zambian rap icon Macky 2. This highly anticipated track pays homage to the legendary Glorious Band, as Macky 2 samples their classic hit “Kansunte”, originally released roughly twenty years ago.
The original Kansunte is a Kalindula masterpiece that paints a raw and emotional picture of marital struggles particularly the all-too-familiar scenario where a husband begins to chase younger women, believing his wife has aged and lost her beauty. It’s a timeless social commentary wrapped in heartfelt storytelling and traditional rhythms.
In Winsula, Macky 2 brings a modern twist to this narrative. He blends his lyricism and contemporary production with the nostalgic vocals and iconic guitar work from Kansunte. The result is a rich, multi-generational fusion that honors the past while speaking to the present.
Production was handled by DJ Bugar and Evamore, with Lalo on the boards, delivering a track that is both respectful to the original and bold in its reinterpretation.
