Tbwoy Returns with Emotional Single “My Shoes”
US-based Zambian artist Tbwoy has made his return to the airwaves with a deeply personal track titled “My Shoes”.
Sharing the story behind the song, Tbwoy who currently serves in the United States Military revealed that he recorded it while deployed in Iraq, during a period marked by the Israel–Iran conflict. Balancing the weight of his military duties, he endured the pain of missing calls and voice notes from his child, all while strangers reached out to him daily with requests for help — unaware of what he was going through at the time.
Reflecting on the experience, Tbwoy wrote:
“I recorded this song while deployed in Iraq… receiving missed calls and voicenotes from my child when I couldn’t answer. Amidst uncertainty, strangers requested money from me daily without knowing what I was dealing with in all those months. God is the greatest.”
