Zedwap Kicks Off Annual Freshman Freestyle Series to Promote Local Music Talent
Zedwap, Zambia’s leading digital music and entertainment platform, has launched the Zedwap Freshman Freestyle, a new initiative aimed at spotlighting emerging talent. The series will kick off in 2025 and is set to become an annual platform for promoting raw artistry and lyrical skill.
Artists are invited to rap over the official Zedwap Freshman Freestyle beat, with seven standout performers selected to feature in the exclusive Zedwap Freshman Cypher. The initiative is not competitive; its goal is to provide exposure and connect artists with a wider audience.
Zedwap has long been a central hub for Zambian and African music, offering free access to tracks, videos, and downloads across genres such as Afrobeat, Hip Hop, Dancehall, and Gospel. The Freshman Freestyle further reinforces the platform’s commitment to nurturing talent and growing Zambia’s music ecosystem.
